Getting a Quote
Every project begins with a clear, transparent estimate. To provide accurate pricing, we’ll need a few key details:
1. Select Your Stone
For the best value and fastest turnaround, we recommend choosing from our online Live Inventory or visiting our slab warehouse with over 700 slabs and 1800 remnants. You may also select material from one of our trusted outside slab suppliers.
2. Choose Your Finish
Unlike many competitors, Star Granite Interiors offers in-house finishing capabilities. We can polish, hone, or leather most natural stones to achieve your desired look.
3. Determine Your Edge Profile
Select your preferred edge profile style for each area of your project to match your design vision.
4. Provide Cabinet Plans or Measurements
Submit your cabinet plans or drawings so we can calculate the required material and prepare your estimate. Formal plans are helpful, but even a simple sketch will work. If needed, our outside sales team can visit your home to measure existing cabinets and provide a custom quote.
5. Identify Cutouts
Let us know how many cutouts your project requires (sinks, cooktops, faucets, etc.). Certain cutouts—such as undermount sinks—may have additional costs associated with fabrication.
6. Choose Your Backsplash Option
Please specify the type of backsplash you plan to use. Popular options include:
- Full-height backsplash using matching stone
- 4″ backsplash from matching material
- Tile backsplash provided by others
Placing Your Order
A 50% deposit secures your slabs, which are tagged and reserved until fabrication begins. Please note we cannot move to the next step until the deposit is received.
Templating
Templating is the foundation of every great installation. Before cutting begins, our team visits your home to create a detailed digital template of your cabinets using state-of-the-art laser measuring devices. These tools capture exact dimensions within millimeters, ensuring your countertops are a flawless fit.
From there, we generate CAD shop drawings– scaled visuals that allow you to review every cut, corner, and seam before fabrication. This step minimizes errors, gives you peace of mind, and sets us apart from shops that cut corners on this level of detail.
It is important that the shop drawings are reviewed and approved as soon as possible after templating. Fabrication cannot be scheduled until the signed drawing approval is returned and all details have been approved.
Checklist For Before Templating:
- All cabinets must be fully installed and secured.
- All appliances (sinks, cooktops, faucets) must be on-site and specifications sent to your sales representative..
- Countertops and surrounding areas must be clear for access
Fabrication & Layout Options
After shop drawings are approved, fabrication begins. For stones with significant veining or movement, we offer an optional digital color layout preview for a $150 fee. This process overlays your actual slab image with the approved shop drawings, allowing you to see how seams and natural patterns will align before cutting begins. This step helps set expectations and ensures the most visually pleasing layout possible.
Installation
Our target is Within 7–10 working days of shop drawing approval, our installation team completes your project. Our trucks are equipped with knuckle-boom cranes, allowing us to safely handle and place large, heavy slabs—often completing installations in a single day.
For natural stone installations, we apply a professional-grade sealer during installation to provide added protection.
What to Expect on Installation Day:
- Cabinets must be cleared and appliances and plumbing fixtures requiring a cutout or hole in the stone must be onsite. If certain items are not onsite it will result in a return trip fee to complete your installation. Please note Star Granite Interiors cannot hook up or perform any plumbing related work. We will mount undermount sinks only, and dry fit other fixtures ensuring the hole is adequate.
- Clear driveway access to the front door is required for safe delivery.
- For safety, occupants and pets should remain outside the work area during slab placement
