Star Granite Interiors traces its roots to 1951, when a small granite company was founded in Elberton, Georgia—widely recognized as the Granite Capital of the World. In 1976, the business was acquired by Rusty Adams, the family patriarch, who expanded it from a very small operation into a highly respected and nationally recognized stone company. 

In the years that followed, his sons, Mark and Rick Adams, joined the family business and played key roles in its growth, helping transform it into a large-scale stone enterprise serving the memorial and construction industries nationwide. During this period, the company also expanded its regional stone interiors operations, operated two local granite quarries, and established a bronze foundry serving both the memorial and construction markets. 

In 2018, the company’s memorial division—a highly successful and well-established business—was sold to a large corporation in the memorial industry. This strategic transition allowed brothers Rick and Mark Adams to shift their full focus to  dimensional stone, countertop & interior stone fabrication and installation, block & slab processing,  and quarry operations. 

Since 2023, following the families departure from our previous company Star Granite Interiors has made significant capital investments in equipment, facilities, systems, and personnel. These upgrades in systems are still underway and are to be finished in 2026.  These investments reinforce the company’s continued commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and growth, as the third generation of the Adams family steps into leadership. 

Current business operations include Star Granite Interiors, Sterling Stoneworks, Sterling Gray Quarries, LLC, and Pink Pearl Quarry, LLC. Collectively, these entities operate more than 68,000 square feet of manufacturing & office space, along with 30,000 square feet of dedicated slab warehouse space.
